Construction Project Engineer

Summary/Objective
 The Construction Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. This position will also assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and technical documentation, ensuring successful delivery from pre-construction through project closeout.

 • Support the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overall project execution.
• Review architectural and engineering plans to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain workflow and resolve issues.
• Track and document project progress, RFI (Requests for Information), submittals, and change orders.
 • Assist with quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and procurement of materials.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
 • Maintain project records, daily reports, and documentation logs.
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders including clients, architects, and engineers. Construction Project Engineer - Job Description 1  
 • Ensure adherence to project timelines and assist in identifying and mitigating potential delays or risks.
 • Participate in project meetings and prepare reports as needed.

Work Environment
 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently inspect the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. This position is performed indoors and in outside weather conditions. You must wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) on construction sites.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities including close vision and color vision.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work.

Travel
Travel is primarily local, although some out-of-the-areas may be expected.
Qualifications:
 • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in construction or engineering (internships may count).
• Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar drafting/markup software is a plus.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
 • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• OSHA certification is an advantage.

Additional Eligibility/Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $82,000
